Body: Hello, R. Stevie Moore, I saw your video "watcha doin?" and am quite fascinated. I understand your aversion to spammers and reluctance to myspace, as I read in an interview with you. I watched and listened to a bunch of your output and interviews in the past hour or so, and I have to say you seem a little negative about your level of fame. That is to say, you think you deserve more. I do too, your music is incredibly interesting, unique, and well crafted. If I may make a criticism, it is that you don't seem very proactive in your search for fame and popularity. This age of the internet gives people an amazing outlet to reach anyone in the world in seconds. If having people know who you are and sharing your vision and art with those people is important to you, then embrace these tools that you have. If you don't want to, then stop complaining. I tried to request you as a friend so I could keep up with what you are doing a little easier, but I had to know your email address or last name (which isn't moore?) in order to do that. So I'm messaging you. I take it that you set up these blocks to thwart "spammers". These blights on society do in fact exist, but they are not hard to work around. My band (also diy and home recorded) has over 20,000 friends, which means 20,00 people who know when we are playing a show, 20,000 people who find out when we've released new material. We get lots of spam, on our comment board and whatnot, and it takes about 5-10 minutes a day to take care of it. Its fucking worth it. Take off the block on the friend requests, or be happy with the fans that you have and your status in life. Because of Youtube, you have a rapidly increasing audience right now. Myspace can do nothing but maintain and develop the connection with that audience. Reach out to us. We need you.
